7 Ways to Use Velvet Bows Beyond the Christmas Tree

Bows are not only for the tree. A few well-placed bows tie the whole house together for the holidays.

1. The front door wreath

A large bow with long tails at the top or bottom of a wreath makes the first impression feel finished.

2. The staircase

Tie small bows along a banister every two to three feet, on their own or over a garland.

3. The mantel

Add bows along a mantel garland, or hang one large bow in the center above the fireplace.

4. Dining chairs

Tie a bow on the back of each chair for a holiday dinner. It takes minutes and changes the whole table.

5. Gift wrapping

Swap the stick-on bow for velvet. It looks more special and can be reused by the person who opens it.

6. Kitchen cabinet doors

Small bows on upper cabinet handles bring the season into the kitchen without taking up counter space.

7. Window candles and lanterns

Tie a bow around the base of a lantern or window decoration. Keep velvet away from any open flame.

Our tree and wreath bows come pre-tied with twist ties, so they work for all of these.
